Cleveland, OH- State Bank of Ohio - Cleveland Branch Counterfeit $3 Mar. 3(?), 1848
Even as counterfeits, this design from the State Bank of Ohio is very scarce statewide. This note is given away by snowman-like eyes in the human figures and the fact that the Indian on the right has an armpit that extends all the way to his neck. The shaded "TH" in "THREE" in the upper right corner is actually a faithful copy of a feature of genuine notes. Good-Very Good, with a few hinge remnants and the usual collection of minor edge nicks and divots characteristic of notes in this condition.
